Concept Map Directions and Layout
- Students will create two concept maps in groups of 2-4 similar to the one shown above.
- Students will label Plessy v. Ferguson in the main idea for one concept map and Brown v. Board of Education for the second concept map. Each main idea will have brief (2-3 sentences) of what the court case was about and the ruling.
- Students will view websites, utilize their textbook, or watch videos to gather information and fill out the branches in the concept map.
- Each branch will represent a ruling, a policy, or an event that was created or spurred as a result of the main idea.
- Students need to create 6-8 branches from the main idea and explain each branch (The ruling, policy, or event, etc.) in detail (2-4 sentences or 2-4 details of the event).
